Cracked

datePosted on 22:46, October 23rd, 2007 by Strangely

The site was cracked by someone purporting to represent the poor down-trodden muslims in the world. Whether this was true or not is irrelevant. Fifth columnists are not a new invention…. I haven’t put up the image that was put in place of my main page as it would add fuel to the person’s hell-state in which they exist.

  • I had a problem and I’m fixing it.
  • Extra stuff is now being done!
  • Unfortunately, all the pics were dumped so I’ve a bit of a job putting them all back. Fortunately the backend database and user details weren’t compromised.
  • Some pix are gone for good as I intend to change the back-end system (again). Apologies if anyone refers to any non-textual items and they don’t work. I may or may not get them fixed - it depends, as my main purpose for this endeavour is a reporting of the history of Crawling Chaos. And that is basically text - which is okay.

What is E.F.S

datePosted on 18:14, October 7th, 2007 by Strangely

*E.F.S.

Krautrock supremos CAN had a numbered series of compositions called the

Ethnological Forgery Series“.

This moniker is a reminder or homage to Holger et al, highlighting the instances when Crawling Chaos are ee-eff-ess-ing
about.

Page Update Code Added

datePosted on 09:07, September 20th, 2007 by Strangely

See main message at Strangely’s site: http://www.strangelyperfect.tv/?p=165

It means that the last time a post or page has been edited by anyone, it shows on the post/page, as well as the original creation time. It is useful to keep track of things and see if anything has been altered. From my (Strangely Perfect) viewpoint, I make changes to the original articles just as I make changes to recordings. That is, it’s quite hard to be really satisfied with anything as after time has passed, I can always think of new bits to add.

Other reasons might be to add or remove some defamatory or complimentary remark in light of changing circumstances.

Or even amend or add a fact, or a spelling mistake …

Nice Interview with Stuart Argabright at Popcorn Youth

datePosted on 22:38, September 19th, 2007 by Strangely

Ike Yard I’ve just read a very informative interview with Stuart at Popcorn Youth. Stuart contacted me about half a year back when I was correcting some fallacies in a Dissensus posting about Crawling Chaos. Since then, we have had a few emails across the water. I never realised how much stuff he’s been into and how many projects he’s instigated and been part of. And yes, he got fucked about by Factory as well.

The depth of his experimentation is impressive. It’s a shame we never got to meet in the Crawling Chaos/early NYC days. He’s due in Paris, London or Glasgow - but not all at once. He steadfastly refuses to contemplate Bridgwater as a venue which is sad as I make a lovely cup of tea. Also, I think given the right publicity and support that they’d go down a storm. Ah well…

Music and Sounds from Doctor Who

I recently met Paul who’s demonstrated to me his gear and I also gave him some pointers and history for analogue stuff that he’s interested in. It set me thinking to when I first started making “sounds” as opposed to music and that I still haven’t properly recorded a tune I made up on a school cross-country run and that’s still in my head. See http://www.strangelyperfect.tv/?p=157. Delia Derbyshire could be said to have inspired several generations of synthesised music players and composers.

Hippy Mick empties his sacks, wooah! Latest update.

Sacks emptied shock!

scan0043.jpg

In a recent communique from Davenport, he tells me that after bumping into Hippy Mick recently, he was informed by Mick that the Chrissie/sacks/emptying statement is now false. However, I shall retain the reference as it refers to his trip to Morocco (I think) with Chrissie many years ago and I like the expression. It always brings a smile. Strangely is wearing his white jacket. Davenport is far left. Hippy Mick is second left in this picture. There are no pictures of his sacks but this link shows where they might be.
